a lil' famous

You're probably not stalking the Matilda Jane blog like I do (unless you're Mandi) so I wanted to point out a pretty cute face that just showed up there!

Her picture is also featured on the blog header, but since the pictures are occasionally switched out in that location, I wanted to make sure we kept record of something a little more permanent.

What's even better? Her buddy, Mylee, is the little ladybug sitting right next to her!

sum... sum... summertime

It is so hot. And it's only supposed to get hotter. We are beating the heat indoors. Which is boring. But we took the girls outside last night to play in the sprinkler for a little fun.

Olivia was game the moment she stepped outside.

her first haircut

Cora's hair was starting to look a little shaggy. Fortunately, I have a personal hairdresser who comes to my house and cuts hair for me. (aka a really, really good friend who also knows a thing or two about cutting hair!)

Good-bye crazy mullet whatever thing...

And here we go!

We did have to bribe her with a milkshake. It kept her distracted for a little while. (But look! That cut is looking so cute!)

And the final result... Pretty adorable!

more from the 4th

My sister just sent me some of the pictures she took from our holiday weekend with the family. They are so cute - I just had to share.

happy 4th!

We celebrated the holiday weekend with my side of the family . It was Cora's first trip home to visit this set of grandparents (and of course I forgot my camera... among several other things) and a chance to meet some of the extended family, too. Olivia had a great time - she loves her grandma and grandpa and auntie "Eesha"

So when we got home, I grabbed my camera and threw Cora in a flag tee to celebrate her first 4th of July. Here are our little patriotic cuties!

agency picnic

Saturday we attended Cora's first adoption agency picnic! It was fun to spend the afternoon with other friends who had adopted. (especially friends we had paper-chased with. Never would have guessed we would be on this side of the process! Eventually, you do get to bring home a child - and we did!) It was a lazy day - we ate, talked, and played in the lake. Actually, the fathers took the kids in the water to play while the mothers sat on the sidelines, in our fold-up chairs dipping our toes in the water. In deep conversation - not to be disturbed! And of course, we took a few cute pictures!
